Have you ever dreamed about windows which can change colors or display pictures maybe even movies? Have you dreamed about windows instead of walls where you can display beautiful images of nature so you could feel like you are there? If yes, then I have a good news for you, that future is closer than you think. Samsung presented its new transparent window on CES 2012 in Las Vegas, US. It is a 46 inch TFT full touch display with 1366×768 resolution.

It opens up a new ways of designing our homes and surroundings. It can be used as a window in the kitchen for displaying favorite recipes while cooking delicious dishes or we can lose an old TV stand in our bedroom and install transparent window instead. It supports multiple applications so far, including Twitter (Facebook was not mentioned yet). The main advantage of it is of course transparency which allows us to see through it as we would look through the normal window. There are so many possible applications for the device that it is not even certain where it will be utilized (are you thinking about Prometheus where crew had those awesome transparent displays aboard the ship?). Moreover, we can imagine transparent windows in our cars, problem with kids? no problem, play some cartoons on the rear windows, sun bothers you? no problem, dim a bit windscreen.

This technology will have a huge effect on our daily life. All we need to do is just wait and enjoy it.

You can see a small presentation of transparent window below.
